Well, this was the start of my holiday in NZ visiting family. Stayed in Wellington when I 1st arrived for 2nights to acclimatise. During my stay, I visited the botanical gardens where I settled down to do some drawing, only to discover I brought the wrong sketchbook 😳🙄 my expensive watercolour book instead of the cheap one. Well, used what I had to hand, roller pens and sharpies. Quite liked the finished product. Lots of texture, and it drew an appreciative audience.

Below is one of my last paintings during my stay in Pukerua Bay. Quite breezy down at the beach. I used watercolour, pen and oil pastel on 300mg weight cotton paper. Very heavy duty which is what is needed for this style of painting. I will be using my ideas for some paintings when I return to England.
