Spent most of this week on this drawing, tried to free up my style 🤔 I like the cool colours, maybe should have focused on using dark blue as outline around the trees. Always learning and exploring drawing techniques. I used soft pastels on pastelmat paper, washes and overlay with graphite and charcoal. Latest challenge trying to draw reflections taken from a photo I took last Summer during lockdown when I was on one of my walks/exercise. I loved the colours and the beauty of the reflections and since I’ve never drawn reflections, I thought it would be a challenge. Day 3 play in the studio, experimenting with media. Today still playing with my new pastel pad but this time adding gesso to create texture. I’ve used soft pastel, mainly Sennelier along with conte and graphite. I love the colours in this picture, the pinks and greens. Still playing with my new sketch pad using soft pastel (Sennelier) and graphite. I love the way the ripples look like figures walking through the sand. I love this new paper I’m working on, a specialist, pastel paper. Now need to work on a much larger scale. At the moment I’ve set myself a target to produce a sketch/study a day.
